Caribbean food tour

Cook the Caribbean with produce from the garden: coconut rice, patacones, estate fruit.

Duration
4 hours
Difficulty
Easy
Zone
La Jorará
Starts at
Finca La Jorará

La Jorará's kitchen runs on its own vegetable garden and regional ingredients, and this workshop puts you on the other side of the stove. You learn the secret of coconut rice, which is harder than it looks, and prepare cakes, pancakes and patacones from plantain and cassava.

Before cooking there is a low-difficulty walk around the estate, past the sea-facing viewpoint and the fruit trees, to pick and understand where the ingredients come from. Then each one is described, prepared, plated and tasted.

This is the experience for people with a refined palate, and for anyone who wants to take home something more lasting than photographs.
