The Sierra's coffee village: waterfalls, a coffee farm and bird and butterfly watching.
Minca is a small village set into the mountain, about forty-five minutes by car from Santa Marta, and it is the best place in the Sierra Nevada to grasp its biodiversity up close: endemic birds, butterflies, cool rivers and clear-water waterfalls.
From the village you walk thirty minutes to one of the waterfalls. For the adventurous it is possible to return down the river, rafting or walking. After a typical lunch there is another walk focused on bird and butterfly watching, closing with a visit to a coffee farm and a short tour of the village.
