From tree to cup: planting, harvest, drying and roasting of Sierra Nevada cacao.
Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta cacao grows a few kilometres from the sea, in volcanic soil and under mountain rains, a combination that gives it a very different profile from lowland cacao.
The experience walks up to the estate viewpoint where the activity takes place. There you follow the whole process — planting, harvest, drying, roasting and storage — and taste both the fresh pod, which surprises almost everyone because it is sweet and citrusy, and the finished cacao.
