La Jorará Eco Hotel · Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
Villa Salak
An exclusive-use estate for 16: weddings, retreats and family celebrations.

Ceremony and celebration
Marry where the river meets the sea, with Colombia's highest mountain behind you and the whole estate to yourselves.
La Jorará closes for the event. No other guests, no road noise, no neighbours: there is a private beach between cliffs, a natural pool eighty metres from the sea and the Sierra Nevada behind.
The set-up goes on the sand: arch, aisle, flowers and the kiosk built as a replica of Tayrona architecture for the meal. At dusk the beach bonfire is lit, which is the part everyone remembers afterwards.
Those who wish can hold the ceremony with a Kogi mamo, the community's spiritual authority, in a place the peoples of the Sierra hold sacred. It is not a hired performance: it is a real ceremony, and it is arranged with the community well in advance.
Every wedding is put together differently. Write to us with your date, your guest count and how you picture it, and we will send you the proposal.
It depends on whether guests stay over or only attend. La Jorará can accommodate around 50 people across all its units, and Villa Salak alone sleeps 16. For the beach set-up itself there is more room. Tell us your numbers and we will tell you which configuration works.
For a wedding with guests, the earlier the better: the whole estate has to be blocked. If the ceremony includes the Kogi mamo, it is arranged with the community and that takes weeks, not days.
No. It is an indigenous spiritual ceremony, not a civil or religious act with legal effect in Colombia. Most couples marry legally in their own country or city and celebrate here. If you need to handle the legal side in Colombia, let us know and we will point you in the right direction.
The dry season runs from December to March and is the most requested precisely for that reason. Whatever the date, a covered fallback plan is prepared with the event coordinator. It is the first thing settled when the proposal is put together.
